"This work embodies the plurality of North American Indigenous voices connecting Nahuatl people and lands of Mesoamerica with the Native people, lands and water of the Ohio river valley. The image iconography also references the edge perimeter of the Ohio river between Cincinnati and Covington, Underground Railroad quilt code iconography and symbols of past and future technology. This piece explores the inextricable link between indigenous people and the natural world around them and how language and communication can be seen in a rivers watershed and tributaries biomimicking the trickle of ideas and thoughts that seep through our culture and perpetuate patterns of equity and inequity."- Rebecca Nava Soto

This mural allowed for the tennis tournament goers to have a hand in creating a stunning mural. The piece was completed on five metal panels. The separation of the metal panels allowed for the team to collaborate each of the five days of the tournament with the tennis fans!
